Nexus
The agentic chat surface: converse, run tools and skills, and manage AI teams.
Nexus is the part of TAO where you work with AI. You chat with an assistant, run teams of AI employees, keep documents and memory, and decide what the AI is allowed to do. This page is your map to everything in Nexus.

Get started in five steps
Add a model key
Go to Settings → AI Model Keys, add a key for your AI provider, and choose your Chat / General default. Without one, Nexus cannot answer. See AI Model Keys.
Connect your accounts
In Settings → Connectors, connect the accounts you want Nexus to use, such as Outlook. See Connectors.
Start a chat
Review what it wants to do
When Nexus needs permission to change something, the request waits on the Approvals page. Open it, read the details and approve or reject.
Go further
Create a team of AI employees with Workforce Creation, or reach Nexus from Slack or Teams with Chat Channels.
Who can see what
Access in Nexus follows permissions, so you may not see every row or page described here.
- Most pages need Nexus chat access.
- Nexus admin permission opens Memory, My Work (when enabled), Desktop, Service API Keys and Learned Rules.
- The AI credentials permission opens AI Model Keys.
- On an Agent Force team, you can be an Admin, Operate or View member, and that decides whether you can edit, run or only read it.
- Approvals can usually be decided only by the person they belong to.
If a page or button is missing, ask your administrator.
What is still being built
Nexus is in active development, and some pages are not complete. The individual guides say exactly what works. The main gaps are:
